Building on what I learned from my last set of alcohol ink pendants with moderate heat during curing, I tried again with different heat levels. From the top:
- More heat
- Less heat
- No heat
Well, less heat made the blotches worse. I tried more heat thinking it would start to gel faster, before the white ink sunk too far. Those pieces are really blotchy as well. Soooo, I went back to no heat.
Previously, with no heat, I’ve had very little success. The ink didn’t really sink. This time, it worked. The sinker white did its thing and pushed through, taking some color with it and giving the pieces a 3D effect. The second one from the left is a little blotchy, which is disappointing because I just love the colors. Mostly, I’m really happy with the pieces. I need to pour a few more with different colors. Hopefully, I will have more success.
